STRATEGY:
OK - this is a job that founder Steve did at his first agency in January 1990.
The strategy at that point was to do something that didn't suck, that the bosses would like.
At this point, Steve had been in marketing for around three weeks. Hand drawn and finished with Letraset, the Cask Marque logo was born - and subsequently signed off.
About a day and a bit was spent on it.

The brief from the British Institute of Inkeeping was brief indeed. "Design a logo for a cask ale accreditation scheme to be displayed in pubs."

OUTCOME:
To this day, it remains exactly the same.
Is it great? No.
Does it work? Yes.
And it's so ubiquitous that to change every piece of POS would cost an absolute fortune. ​
