PROJECT PHOENIX CHANGE MANAGEMENT
BAE Systems recently embarked upon the biggest single change in IT infrastructure in their history. The multi-million pound investment in the military aircraft division relied on the latest technology and the support of employees. Due to a lack of effective communication, human nature prevailed and employees feared the worst. The rumour mill began to churn with potentially catastrophic results.
WHAT WE DID
We took a straightforward and pragmatic approach - explaining clearly why change was necessary and how it would keep BAE Systems competitive and capable of winning large contracts. We were honest about the potential for job losses and we made information readily available.
We also created the opportunity for employees to ask questions directly to management via a series of channels. We used ambient media, the BAE Systems intranet and events to get the message across.
An end to the rumour mill and a dramatically more engaged workforce who felt valued and appreciated due to the fact that their fears were addressed and clear explanations given.
